What ANEF lets you do
ANEF centralises most residence procedures: first application, renewal, change of status, duplicate. Filing, tracking and the issuance of some documents are done entirely online, without visiting the prefecture.
Not every procedure is integrated, though. Depending on your situation and your prefecture, some steps still require an in-person appointment: fingerprinting, collecting a permit, or filing an application that does not exist on the portal.
Why a prefecture appointment is sometimes still needed
When a step cannot be completed online, you need a slot at the prefecture. That is where the difficulty starts: slots are scarce and often disappear within minutes.
Rendez-vous Préfecture continuously monitors the official appointment pages and alerts you by email and SMS as soon as a slot opens, so you can book it yourself on the prefecture's website. We have no access to your ANEF account or your application.
